DCAGT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Are you interested in finding out more about DCSD's Discovery Program? Join parents of Discovery students and staff from our district's Advanced Academics and Gifted Education team to learn more about this programming available through Discovery.
Join us on our Facebook page or our YouTube channel on Wednesday, November 11 from 6:00 to 7:00pm. You will have the opportunity ask questions either within the comments on either social platform or via email at info@dcagt.org. We know that not all people are comfortable asking questions on such public platforms. We will get to as many as questions as we are able during the 1 hour session.
Discovery Program Application Process
The application process for the 2021-2022 Discovery Program is now open through Friday, December 4. The Discovery Program is designed for highly advanced gifted learners in grades 2 - 6 whose needs may be best met in a center-based program. Please note that the Discovery Program takes place in an in-person learning environment at one of three locations.
Family information nights and class registration will be here before we know it. This conversation will focus on the transition timelines and placement considerations for gifted students moving into middle school or high school in the Fall of 2021.
Join us on our Facebook page or our YouTube channel on Monday, December 7th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. You will have the opportunity to ask questions either within the comments on either social platform or via email at info@dcagt.org. We know that not all people are comfortable asking questions on such public platforms. We will get to as many as questions as we are able during the 1-hour session.
We Need Your Input
Please take a few moments to take our quick survey. We are asking for your feedback to help us understand the types of information and topics that would help you and your families during the 2020-2021 school year.
As many of you know, DCAGT is run completely by volunteers. We realize that being a full-time board member isn’t possible for everyone, so we came up with other ways other people could contribute! If you would like to volunteer or would like to learn more about us, please reach out to us at info@dcagt.org
At this time, we are looking for somone who can help us rework the DCAGT website. If you are interested in helping us with the website, please contact info@dcagt.org.
Take a few moments to follow us on Social Media and visit our website.
Each week, CAGT features a different expert in gifted education who will speak on a current GT topic in a live video chat on CAGT's Facebook page with time for your questions!
Tue. Nov. 10th: Karen Rogers
Tue. Nov. 17th: Joy Lawson Davis

When you choose an affiliate as part of your CAGT membership, you are connecting and supporting local people in your area who are volunteering time to make things better for gifted children and families. You will receive not only CAGT announcements, but also local information on programs or topics of interest to GT advocates. Some affiliates are more active then others and you do not have to live in the immediate area of your chosen affiliate. DCAGT is the Douglas County Affiliate.
